Approval workflows for DMN diagrams

Approval workflows enable you to make sure that diagrams have been approved by a list of users before they are published in the Collaboration Hub.

To define and run approval workflows, the Signavio Editor & Decision Manager is seamlessly integrated with Workflow Accelerator.

DMN diagrams are supported by the approval workflow feature.

In the ON PREMISE Edition of the Signavio Process Manager, you need to have installed Workflow Accelerator as well to be able to run approval workflows. In case you consider to install an on-premise instance of Workflow Accelerator, you can find more details on how to setup Workflow Accelerator on your machine at http://admindocs.workflow.signavio.com/en/latest/.

To initiate an approval workflow, select the DMN diagram you would like to have approved in the Signavio Explorer and click Share, then Start approval workflow in the top drop-down menu:

Now, select the approval workflow you want to trigger:

Click Start to trigger the execution of the approval workflow.

A mail is send to all candidates who have roles in the first approval task.

A candidate can open the task via a link in the mail and approve the step in Workflow Accelerator:

Candidates in charge of approving the diagram can open the approval task in Workflow Accelerator.
